On Trask Parkway

A church family with a story worth telling

Canaan Missionary Baptist Church is a congregation of the lowcountry, gathered on Trask Parkway in Sheldon, South Carolina around the preaching of God’s Word. We are Baptist in doctrine and missionary in heart, and we are grateful to be here.

Every church has a story — the people who prayed it into being, the pastors who preached here, the families who raised their children in these pews, and the neighbors the church has served along the way. Canaan’s story is being written down for this page.

In the meantime, the doors are open and the welcome is the same as it has always been. Come and worship with us this Sunday, or stop in for Bible study on Wednesday.

Have a photograph, a bulletin, or a memory from years past? We would be glad to have it.

Our StoryComing soon

The history of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church will be shared here. Please check back soon.

This is where the church’s own story will be told — how Canaan began, the pastors and members who carried it, and the milestones along the way — in the church’s own words.

If you have a memory, a photograph, or a piece of the story to add, we would love to hear from you.

This page is ready for the church’s own words. Send them to us and they will go here — the founding of Canaan, the pastors who have served, and the milestones along the way, with the photographs that belong with them.
